  • Comparability ratios for ICDA-8 and ICD-9-CM This report describes changes in the diagnostic coding classification system between ICDA-8 and ICD-9-CM and provides comparability ratios that can be used to estimate trends over time.


  • Comparability of cause-of-death between ICD revisions Studies are routinely done to compare revisions of ICD classifications of the cause of death. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), National Vital Statistics System provides source documents and reports comparing classification schemas as well as statistical methods for calculating trends in mortality using various classification schemes.
