The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has released a new Methods Report entitled Enhancing Clinical Information in Statewide Hospital Administrative Data: Project Summary and Lessons Learned (Report #2010-01).

This report discusses the main findings from AHRQ's recently-completed Adding Clinical Data project, which took place from September 2007 through October 2009. It provides the lessons learned by the four State Partners that participated in the project, focusing on three main categories: project initiation, data standards and transmission, and communicating with hospitals and stakeholders.
