General Notes

UNCBWTCHARGE contains the weight to the uncomplicated in-hospital births in the universe of community hospitals for total charge estimates for the year 2000. This weight has already been merged onto the KID Inpatient Core File by record type and stratum as DISCWTCHARGE. In the 2000 KID, there are two discharge-level weights (DISCWT and DISCWTCHARGE). DISCWT should be used to create national estimates for all analyses except those that involve total charge. DISCWTCHARGE should be used to create national estimates of total charge.
