2015 Minnesota SASD

2015 Minnesota SASD

The 2015 HCUP Central Distributor State Ambulatory Surgery and Services Databases (SASD) for Minnesota were recreated in March 2019 to correct the Core files. The purpose of this notification is to provide a brief description of the problem.

Data Issue

The 2015 Minnesota SASD included six files, three types of files (Core, Charge, and Diagnosis and Procedure Groups) with each file type split into two parts based on the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) coding scheme. Data for discharge quarters 1–3 with ICD-9-CM coding are stored in one set of three files, and data for discharge quarter 4 with ICD-10-CM/PCS coding are stored in another set of three files. There was an issue with the Core file type for discharge quarters 1–3, which made it incompatible with the associated SAS, SPSS, and Stata load programs.
